19,342 patients in the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions participated in the ASCOT study, helping to develop our understanding of high blood pressure and how it is best managed.  ASCOT was also Europe's largest ever study of lipid management in hypertension, involving nearly 10,000 patients in the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions.  The results of ASCOT have influenced national and international guidelines on lipid-lowering and the optimal management of hypertension.
